Yesterday afternoon Presley had her first date...and her mom, dad, and sister tagged along too. That seems right. I think that should be how dates always are, a family date. :) I'll let her know that's the rule in our house when she gets a little older. ;) (You can't see in this picture, but Chad is about 3 steps behind them. He's not letting them out of his sight. ;) )
Anyways, we picked up the two girls and our friend Grayden from daycare and took the 3 of them to the zoo. Pictures are here. (Warning there are LOTS of them.) We were planning on going to the zoo when my friend Roxy asked if we could watch Grayden while her and Brian went to a meeting. Of course we didn't mind if Grayden tagged along with us. We had to drive two cars to the zoo, because my car is so crowded with the two car seats it has with the girls, there was no way I could fit Grayden's seat in my car so we put his seat in Chad's car. We got to the zoo a little before 4 and it closes at 5 so it was a fairly fast trip. Good thing Potawatomi isn't that big of a zoo. It kept us moving, but with little kids that was a good thing. They didn't have a chance to be bored or ask to get out of the stroller much. We were always moving on to something new. It is nice to have a zoo like this just a few minutes from home. We did manage to make it through the whole zoo. Not all the animals were out yet (the petting zoo) because the weather wasn't quite warm enough yet. Hopefully they will be out next time. We had snacks and drinks packed with us, so we stopped and had a little break half-way through.
Presley and Grayden are so sweet to each other. When one would see something, they would ask the other if they saw it too. They were holding hands in the stroller or when they got up to walk. They play so well together. Grayden is quite the well-mannered little man.
After the zoo we came back to our house. The kids played on the playset and with bubbles in the backyard. Grayden had a blast. I could hardly get a picture of him because he was so fast running all over. Presley saw him going down the tube slide by himself so she decided she could do it too. After awhile Roxy and Brian came over bringing pizza. After dinner the kids played a little more and then it was time for our friends to leave and Presley to hit the sack. (Addison had already crashed.) I seriously think it took at the most 2 minutes for Presley to fall asleep. She was exhausted. I was too. Working all day, walking around the zoo with 3 kids, and then coming home chasing them lead to one tired mommy. I think it took me about 2 minutes to fall asleep too. I'm not complaining. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Looking forward to getting our flowers tomorrow and start getting the house ready and outside ready for Presley's party next weekend. Lots to do.
