field trip

Presley took another field trip with her pre-school friends the other day and Aunt Jenny was nice enough to go with her to take some pictures for me. Sounds like Presley had a good time. She was showing Addy how to stop, drop, cover and roll the other night. ;) She told us all about "Little Red" and how they had to yell at him to wake up.

I don't' think I've mentioned Presley report card yet. She got it last week and we were thrilled to see she got all G's for Good. Only one thing to work on...hopping on one foot. :) Since we told her about that, there's been LOTS of practice hopping on one foot. She's got the hopping part down pat now, just needs to work on staying in one place. She thinks it's silly to hop all around. Her teacher even hand wrote a letter to each parent about the progress of their student. She told about how she loves watching Presley during story time because she shows such interest. She wrote about how she loves to play with her good friends, Maddie and Grace but she will also play nicely with the other kids too. She said the nicest things and at the bottom of Presley's she wrote... "Thanks so much for sharing Presley with me. She sure is a keeper." :) We think so too!

dedication

Today we had Reese dedicated at church. We were so thankful that all of our family could make it to church today with us and then helped us continue the celebration with dinner afterwards. Reese was a very good girl during her church debut. She was kicking her legs to the music before we went up and then was quiet as could be up front. So proud. :)

Special thanks to A. Hildy for the adorable outfits for all the girls for Christmas. We got lots of compliments. ;) Even the nursery worker told me she had to take pictures of Reese on her cell phone because she was just "too cute in her tu-tu!" :)

game-time

We went to the high school basketball again this weekend...this time it was the girls. Chad and his girl team got introduced this week during the Varsity half-time. Presley and Addy had a little more fun this time because they had Grace to play with. And Reese liked laughing at Grace's little brother, Ryne too. I think he was trying to flirt a little with her. :) We'll have to keep our eye out for him. ;)

Wish

Ran out of time yesterday to wish my nephew, Trenton a very Happy 18th Birthday on here. We did get a call in to him and the girls each got to wish him a Happy Birthday on the phone, but I wanted to let him know here that we were thinking of him too. Trenton, we hope you had a great day yesterday and a wonderful, exciting year ahead. We love you.
p.s. I'm still not quite sure how you can be 18? I still feel like I was 18 just a couple of years ago?

on the go

I don't think I've mentioned on here that Reese is now mobile. Well, I guess she's been mobile for awhile now barrel rolling all over, but now she's up on all 4 and crawling EVERYWHERE. And fast too. She started right after New Year's Eve. So about 7 months or so. I was thinking it was going to be awhile, because she has every toy brought to her she could ever want from her two big sisters, and she seemed content enough to roll where she wanted to go, but lo and behold...she got up on all 4's one day and then about two days later she was moving.

She can also go from crawling or laying down to sitting up by herself now too. Guess that means it's time to lower her bed. She has pulled herself up once or twice, but isn't too good at that yet, so we may have some time.

bowling

Chad and I took Presley and Addison bowling tonight for the first time. They both seemed to really enjoy it, although they had a tough time waiting their turn. We had the bumpers up for them and they did pretty good. Presley was able to carry her pink (surprise, surprise) ball up and set it down gently and give it a big push by herself.

Addy thought it helped her ball go straighter if she would jump up and down after she pushed it. ;)

Presley thought the fan for drying your hands was almost as much fun as the actual bowling.

Addy was thrilled with her lemonade.

Presley gave the "jumping up and down" trick a try too to see if it would straighten out her ball.

Chad actually won and I came in 2nd, but I will be honest, I didn't beat Presley (or Addy for that matter) by all that much, maybe 20? :) You'll just have to trust me that it isn't that pretty when I bowl. I probably should've had them put the bumpers up for me too. :) I honestly can't even remember the last time I bowled? College maybe? Who knows.

After bowling the 4 of us went out for pizza. We had gift cards from Christmas. Thanks Mom and Dad B. for keeping Reese for us. We appreciate it and I'm sure Reese had more fun at your house than she would've bowling. ;)

breakfast fun

Have you seen these things? Probably not the most nutritious breakfast, but definitely fun. Addy especially liked these this weekend when we pulled them out. She now thinks she needs them every morning. We were thinking more like once a week or month or something. ;)

basketball

Last night we took the girls to the high school boys basketball game. We had been stuck in the house for a few days because it's been so cold, we needed a good excuse to get out. Plus, Chad and his junior high team were being introduced during half-time of the varsity game. The girls had lots of fun yelling for the boys, watching the cheerleaders "flip" around and of course snacking on the popcorn.

bragging rights

Not to brag or anything (or maybe to brag) but Presley can do something that no one else at daycare can... :) Way to go, Presley! She's working hard to teach Addison too. Addy's almost got it, although I'm not sure anyone else can understand her numbers, we can. :) Presley almost has her entire address too. She just needs me to say the first number to get her started and then she misses a number in the zip code, but she's almost got it! Yeah for her. She also can say everyone in our families birthday if I say the month. She asked me one time, and I told her, and now she somehow remembers.

perks

One of the perks of teaching the little ones (and I'm talking about at school now, not my own little ones) is hearing all the funny things they say. Today I heard a great one that I just had to share. I started something new today, "Booster Groups". Basically just extra Reading Groups for my kids who are extra needy. More focused instruction with smaller groups. Anyways, I pulled out some fun things for the other kids to do while I was with a small group. They were new things that the kids hadn't done before. After we were finished with that time, the kids we working on something else and I was sitting at a table with one little boy talking to him and he said,

Student - "I wish we could do car seats again."
Me - "Car seats? What did you say?"
The little guy got really embarrassed and said, "never mind"
A minute later it dawned on me....Booster Groups! :) He was thinking of Booster Groups and couldn't quite remember the name, but knew it was something like car seats. :) So I asked him if he meant Booster Groups, and sure enough I was right.

Another funny, one of my kids doesn't quite know all of his letter or letter sounds yet, and for some reason he's quick to tattle on kids who say mean things. I quite often will get this...

Student - "Mrs. B, so and so said the "B" word."
Me - "Well, what is that "B" word?"
Student - "Moron", "stupid", "shut-up" and even "What the heck?"

He has replied with all of those statements to the "B" word. :) Guess I have a little more work to do with in him in our car seat groups. ;)

more Christmas

The girls got to open another Christmas present yesterday from Great Grandma and Grandpa P. It came all the way from Florida. The gift was too perfect....princess pajamas and princess bath robes. How perfect for my 3 little princesses.

After baths we decided to try them on and have a little photo shoot so we could show Great Grandma and Grandpa P. how much we love them. Thanks so much. We love you and miss you lots.

Thanks also for the DVD you got us too. We have already watched it 2 times this weekend. ;)

sledding

Chad and I took the girls to a real hill to go sledding yesterday instead of Chad just pulling them around our back yard. The girls were super excited. We took turns sitting in the car with Reese (who was sleeping). We had planned to let her go with us a few times and had her bundled up, but she must've been too cozy and decided a nap sounded better. :) Here is Addy being pulled UP the hill while having a snack (snow).

The girls were pretty brave this time. They each took a turn going by themselves and Daddy even convinced them to let him push them down backwards.

little chefs

One of the presents that the girls got for Christmas was a Disney Princess Cool Bake Oven. Totally loved by the little girls. I guess it's a toddler version on an Easy Bake. The Disney oven uses ice cubes to "cook" the little cakes. Perfect for my two. We got our new aprons and chef hats on (thanks Mawmaw and Pawpaw) and got our oven out to cook up a surprise for Daddy while he went to the store. Stirring the batter...say "cheese"of course you need to lick the spoon while you are waitingThe cakes were ok. But the girls thought they were the best thing ever. :)
