best time of the year

I LOVE this time of the year. It is by far my favorite. One of the reason I love this time is because I love all the mail we get. I look forward to going to my mailbox every day to see the Christmas cards that we got. My favorite cards are always the ones with pictures of my friends and family. I save all of our old cards and go through them each year when I pull out my Christmas decorations. I also cut out the pictures of our family and friends and put them in a photo album for my girls to look through throughout the year.

This year as I was thinking about what I wanted to do for Christmas cards this year I happened to look at my refrigerator and noticed Reese's birth announcement (yes, she is 2 years old and her announcement is still on the my refrigerator....but it has moved from the front of the refrigerator to the side.) Anyways, I noticed it and was thinking to myself how much I still liked them and decided to check out Shutterfly's Christmas card options.And boy did I like the options. There were almost too many options. Which is a good problem to have. And not only the Christmas card options, but I also checked out the awesome holiday cards as well. And then how fun would these gift tags be? You need to check these out. I can't wait to plug in our family photos and play around. Who know, maybe one of these here will be in your mailbox soon!

showtime

I had a little date with Presley and Addison yesterday afternoon. They had seen the previews for the Disney movie, Tangled. It came out a few days ago, and I surprised them this morning and told them we were going. Not only were we going, we were meeting their cousins Reagan and Reilly there too! And since Nana was in town for Thanksgiving she came too with A. Hildy and A. Jenny (and U. Matt came too). Daddy stayed home with Reese while she was napping.

The girls (and I) LOVED the movie. Definitely a Disney classic. One of their best in awhile. Can't wait for it to come out on DVD. While watching the previews we saw the new Yogi Bear movie trailer and the girls are anxiously awaiting that to come out in a few weeks. They decided that we better go see that with cousin Gabi since "she likes Yogi too." : )

full of thanks

I Love Thanksgiving because it gives me a chance to pause and remember all that I have to be thankful for. I am truly blessed. I am thankful for my loving, hard-working husband, my three wonderful girls, an awesome immediate and extended family, fun friends, a job that I love, a roof over my head, and good health to name a few. We had a great Thanksgiving with Chad's side of the family at A. Cindy's. Before we left we took some time to talk to the girls about what they are thankful for. Presley said she was thankful for Mrs. H (aide at school who helped her write these feathers), her sister Reese and her dog.

Addy was thankful for her mommy & daddy, her stuffed animals and her 2 pre-school teachers.

And Reesey was thankful for her "Strawbears" (aka Strawberry Shortcake toys) and blankies.

I'm glad we took some time out to talk about all we have to be thankful for.

So thankful that I get to be their mommy.

Wow, Halloween, huh? Didn't realize it's been that long. We've been busy with life. Chad has started coaching boys basketball. Presley is busy with soccer games, basketball try-outs, the Christmas Musical at church and kindergarten. Addison and Reese have been busy having fun at daycare and pre-school for Addy. Me, I guess between school, home and kids I seem to be keeping busy as well. And actually we've all been busy with yucky "sickies". Addy had pink eye, and all of us except Reese had some sort of stomach flu that knocked us out pretty hard. Reese has a cold now, but besides that we all seem to be doing better now thankfully.

We celebrated Veteran's Day last week at school.Presley was very excited to learn that her Pawpaw, Uncle Ben, and Great Grandpa P. were all veterans.

She wanted to make sure she could read her story to Pawpaw when we picked up the other 2 girls at daycare.

We started decorating 1 of our Christmas trees tonight. I know, I know, it's early. Not even Thanksgiving. But since we aren't hosting Thanksgiving this year, why not? I LOVE to decorate for Christmas and it seems so sad to do all that work decorating for such a short time. Plus, I'm one of those people who don't really like to leave the tree up after Christmas is over. So I want to enjoy my decorations as long as I can. Don't worry we still have our turkey blow up in the front yard so the neighbors won't think we're crazy. ;)
