pumpkin patch

Saturday afternoon after Reese's nap we headed out to our FAVORITE pumpkin patch as a family. The girls love this place. By the time we got there, it had turned quite chilly and we weren't dressed as warm as we should've been. Because it was so cold we didn't stay as long as we wanted and didn't get to do everything we wanted. I guess that means we'll have to go back?! Maybe. We did stay long enough to check out the pumpkins.

And play a bit.
We also checked out the different animals.


We of course hit up the girls' favorite ride, the cow train.
Even though it was cold, we still managed to have some good ol' family fun!

Saturday morning we headed over to Great Grandma & Grandpa Jones's house for a short visit. They left for Florida this morning for the winter. It was a nice visit, but we should've gotten the pictures taken as soon as we got there....and not as we were about to leave. Addison wasn't in the mood.
I think she was sad about saying goodbye. ;) We will miss you, but look forward to seeing you in the spring. Stay warm for us! Love you.

football

We have taken all 3 girls to a couple of football game this year to watch cousin Tyler. Because the games don't start until 7, we usually have to leave around half-time to get Reese in bed. The older girls have been asking to go to a football game and stay for the entire game. Friday night was the night we were able to do it. Nana came into town so she came over to play with Reese. We bundled up and headed out. The girls were able to sit with cousin, Briella.
They had lots of fun eating popcorn & candy, drinking hot chocolate, and of course lots of cheering for cousin Tyler. Too bad their cheering wasn't enough. Tyler's team lost. :(

crafty lady part 2

Earlier I mentioned that my younger sister is well on her way to following in my mom's footstep with her crafty ways. Most of you know this, but with my dad being a farmer, when we were growing up my dad had a cb radio in his tractors. This was before the days of cell phones. If we needed to get a hold of him we would use the radio. We each had our own handle. My moms being, "Crafty Lady." I think Hilary is trying to take over the handle or at least become the 2nd. She came over earlier this week to watch the girls while Chad and I ran some errands. When we got back Hil and I were talking and I showed her a Pottery Barn magazine with these adorable little felt cut-out pumpkin decorations. I told her I thought they were cute, but couldn't imagine spending money (at least that much) on them. Fast forward to Saturday and Hilary called and asked if she could come over because she had something for the girls. Look what she made! Aren't they so cute? Presley picked the kitty. And that left Addison with the spider. So much fun and so cute! Thanks A.Hildy!

fall fun

Today we had Chad's family over for some fall fun. Cindy brought some yummy chili. Mom B. brought some bread bowls from Panera and also some yummy donuts. We made hot apple cider with cinnamon. We enjoyed a late lunch while catching up with Trenton who was home from college for the weekend. When Reese got up from her nap we headed over to the local pumpkin patch.
When we pulled up we noticed our good friend, Grayden (& his mommy & daddy too) were there. The girls were thrilled to see him. (You better not ask how it was saying good-bye to him....let's just say the walk to the car, not so fun!)

field trip

Friday I went on a field trip with Presley and her pre-school class. Addison got to tag along too. We went to the pumpkin patch. First we checked out the petting zoo.Next we took a wagon ride out to the corn maze. The kids did a little singing while waiting for the other wagons to catch up.
