of camping went MUCH better. We took our chances and decided to go back to Jellystone this weekend and had a much better result. Actually we had a lot of fun, especially Presley. We got up to the campground around 6 on Friday night. It was nice having Cindy and her family there too, because as soon as we got there Tyler, Ben, and Trenton came over to help Chad get the trailer set up and Cindy and Gabi came and took Presley and Addison and watched them while I got the inside set up. Friday night Presley got to fish with Uncle Ben and play with Gabi. Presley had a hard time going to bed. We put her on the bunk in the back of the trailer. There is a window there and she could look out the window and see the rest of us in front of the campfire. She would plaster her body on the window and just cry. A little later we would see her feet on the window. It was cute to watch. She finally went to bed probably close to 10. Saturday we got up to get pictures with Yogi, Cindy and Boo Boo Bear. While in line Presley kept saying she wanted to sit on Yogi's lap and give him a hug. I was pretty skeptical, but kept my hopes up. I wasn't the least bit surprised that when it was actually our turn she wouldn't go anywhere near them. The closest we got her to stand was holding Gabi's hand on the other side of the bears or when Chad held her. Oh well. Addy was fascinated and just kept staring at them. After pictures Addy went to take her morning nap and Presley and I went to ride the Boo Boo Express train. After lunch and naps for both girls again we had a cook-out with Cindy and her family and Mom and Dad B, who had driven up for dinner. After dinner Presley, Chad and I went for a little boat ride to look for fish. Then we walked up to the store for some yummy ice cream. It was Presley's first time getting her own ice cream. She loved it. Addison even got to try some out too. In fact Ben had to hold her and walk right next to me, so I could give her little bites of my ice cream. If I took too long giving her a bite she would start to scream... She must feel the same way about ice cream that her mommy and papa do. On the way back to the trailer we decided to check out the dance. At first there were only a few little kids dancing and Presley enjoyed dancing with Gabi, but when more people came she wasn't quite so sure. Plus, it was Mardi Gras weekend so some people came with funny hats and masks on and I think that scared her too. We waited until Yogi and friends came so she could see them dance and then headed back to the trailer to get ready for bed. Another campfire Saturday night. Sunday we got up packed up some, went and looked at new trailers and went to the splash pads and indoor pool. After that is was time to get in the car and come home. Such a good time. Here are some of our highlights:
- campfire and s'mores
- fishing (real & pretend)
- playground
- dancing
- stroller rides
- walks
- ice cream
- catching bugs and frogs
- family time
- playing ball
- swimming
- train rides
We're looking forward to going again soon. I'm not sure if we will go again this weekend, but I know we are going the following weekend with our friends Bob, Nikki and Gracie. That should be lots of fun too. Enjoy more pictures here.
