pool playdate

Today was the perfect day for a pool playdate with cousins. First up I picked up Chick-fil-a for lunch and we had a little picnic outside. Then it was on to the pool for the rest of the afternoon. My two oldest girls were so excited about it they couldn't go to bed last night. They were in bed by 8:00 but were still up talking/playing around 9:45. And then Presley walked in my bedroom this morning at 5:30. I told her it was still too early and walked her back to bed. When I tucked her back in she closed her eyes, smiled and said, "In the morning playdate with Reaggie and Reilly." :) Do you think she was excited?
Reilly on the slide.
Now Reagan's turn.

Cutie-patootie Addison.
Cannonball!

Presley, Reilly and Reagan.
Ready -
JUMP!

So much fun! Thanks cousins for a fun, fun day! Let's do it again soon!
P.S. Reesey-pot was there too, but the only time I get to take pictures is when she is napping. When she's up all I do is chase after her. ;)

Father's Day Weekend

For Father's Day weekend we went camping with Chad's family at our favorite place, Yogi Bear! After surviving the storms on Friday night we got up early to visit the bears for picture time. Then it was on to craft hour.
Ceramic tiles for Dad.
The boys were playing in a horseshoe tournament so the girls stopped by the playground.
Then it was time for a quick lunch so we could get to the splash pad and the new wading pool.
Gabi taught Presley how to play hop-scotch.
While Abby was coloring with Addison.
We had great weather.
Of course good food, including marshmallows.
Lots of bike and scooter rides. And Reese liked walking cousin dog, Maizy. (She's much better on a leash than Queenie.)

We celebrated Dad's day on Sunday. The girls were so excited to show Chad their craft they made him (they hid them in the camper after craft hour so he wouldn't see them until Father's Day) and the gifts they helped pick out.
Of course they had to help him often his gifts.

After gifts it was off to the pool one last time.

It was a fun, fun weekend and we were especially glad to spend it with our Daddy and Pawpaw too. And we are looking forward to vacation in a couple of weeks with Papa too!
Happy Father's Day to a great Daddy! We love you lots!!

practicing

Since the girls have been in swim lessons learning how to swim we thought we might as well do some extra work and practice their skills at Mawmaw and Pawpaw's pool.
I took the girls over after their lessons the other day and let them swim. 2 of their friends, Shea and Sara also were able to swim with them.
Presley and Shea.
Presley was practicing swimming underwater from one side of the pool to the next.
These 3 friends will all be in kindergarten next year.
Ready,
set,
JUMP!
Splash!

swim lessons

The 2 older girls have been taking swim lessons at the high school for the last 2 weeks. Boy, oh boy have they come a LONG way. Before lessons even started they would both start crying at the talk of putting their face in the water or going underwater.
And now they are jumping off the diving board.

And going underwater constantly.
Presley has turned in to quite the fish....swimming underwater from one side of the pool to the other.
I'm so proud of them both.

And Reese has been taking lessons as well. She's in the Mommy (or Daddy) and me swim class at night. Chad and I have been taking turns getting in the water with her.
She especially loves singing the songs and playing with the toys - not so much the going underwater part. :) But she is good at blowing bubbles and putting her face in the water.
