Father's Day Weekend

We spent Father's Day weekend camping with my side of the family at Muskegon State Park. I think camping for Father's Day is becoming a tradition. Last year we were camping with Chad's family in Grand Haven for Father's Day. Addison and Reilly had fun searching for acorns in the woods.
We got lots of use out of Chad's new IU cornhole game that he got for his birthday. I think Hil and Dad were the all-time champs. Jen and Matt and Chad and I tried to beat them, but we just couldn't...

We got to spend lots of time down at the beach in the lake and sand. The water was a tad bit chilly for Chad and I, but the girls didn't seem to mind one bit.

Don't you just love that face? ;)

The weather wasn't the greatest Friday night, but thankfully the rest of the weekend was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold with lots of sun. It was nice being with family. Happy Father's Day to my dad, we are glad we could spend the weekend with you. Also want to wish my father-in-law a Happy Father's day as well. Looking forward to spending vacation with you in a couple of days. We love you both!

Happy Day, Daddy!

We love you Daddy! We hope you had a great day! Thanks for working so hard for our family.

fairytale fantasy

This weekend was Fairytale Fantasy at Yogi's. The girls had lots of fun. Chad's sister, Cindy and family were able to come this time too, which made it that much more fun.

Reese wasn't a fan of the bears this time for some reason. Just a few weeks ago, so didn't mind one bit.But thankfully Gabi came to her rescue.
After pictures with the bears it was off to craft time. Here is (sleepy) Princess Addy. And Princess Presley. All 3 lovely Princesses.
After craft time, it was off to fishing. Daddy was having a great day. Every time he would cast out, a fish would bite. The girls enjoyed helping him reel the fish in, and Presley even would hold the fish to throw them back in.
From fishing we went back to the camper, ate lunch and had a little rest. From there it was off to the splash pad. The girls grabbed each other's hands on their own and had a little conversation on the way there. I love this next picture where they are looking at each other and enjoying their talk. Lots of fun was had at the splash pad.

I wish we could install one of these yellow water bubbles in our backyard. Reese LOVED it. I think she could sit there all day.

Both Addison and Presley were brave enough to check out the little water slides this time on their own.

After the splash pad it was time for a quick dinner and then getting ready for the ball. After I got Addison in her Cinderella dress, she walked out of the camper and A.Cindy was waiting for her and she said, "I'm ready for the ball.".

From the ball to the campfire. Lots of yummy s'mores and pizza pudgies.
Pictures down by the lake with cousins.

Reese has been having a crush on cousin Tyler lately. She chooses him over Mommy and Daddy sometimes.
Presley with her favorite, Cindy Bear. Reese and Ranger.

We had a really great weekend camping. So nice to be able to do it with family. I love sitting around the campfire eating, telling stories and laughing. Such good times. We had a rough night of sleep the first night, but we must have done a good job wearing them out the second day (that and the Motrin we gave Reese for her teeth) because we didn't hear a peep from anyone all night the second night and they even slept in a bit. Good, good times.

happy birthday, daddy!

Today we celebrated Daddy by taking the day off. Too bad Daddy didn't get to take the day off. He's busy teaching Driver's Ed, but the girls and I enjoyed a day off for him. ;) I actually took all 3 girls shopping this morning to get Daddy's presents and to pick up a cake to make for him this afternoon. Presley thought we should look for the "computer aisle" so we could get Daddy a new one. Hmmm. Wonder where she got that idea? Daddy?

After the store we came home for lunch and then Reese went down for her nap while Presley and Addison helped me bake Daddy's cake and decorated his cards. We were planning on going out for dinner tonight to celebrate but Reese wasn't in the best of moods, so we ordered pizza instead. I'm pretty sure Daddy didn't mind one bit. After dinner it was time for cake and ice cream with a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday".

Happy Birthday, Daddy. We love you lots!

********

I don't think I've mentioned yet, but......

schooooooollllll's out for the sum-mer!

School ended last week for us. I was actually kind of sad for this year to end. I had a really great group of kindergarteners this year. Probably one of my best classes ever. They were just a really nice group of kids who liked learning. Plus, they were one of my smartest groups, so that makes my job even easier. ;) But don't get me wrong, I LOVE my summer break.

We've been keeping busy. The girls and I helped R & R celebrate their 6th birthday last Saturday while Chad went to Trenton's commencement. Sunday we helped out at Trenton's Open House. And this week it's been the girls and I trying to find things to occupy our day. :) I think they are taking turns on who sleeps in and who gets up early. One of them has been up early every day. Hoping that changes. And looking forward to some days without rain and warmer weather too.
